DanChurchAid

DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-profit organization working toward three global goals: Saving Lives, Building Resilient Communities, and Fighting Extreme Inequality.  The present project will address food security and women’s empowerment in Karamoja, one of the most food-insecure and resource constrained regions in Uganda. By working with culture and beliefs among men and women, and by training women in permaculture gardening, the project sets out to promote drought resilience and agro-ecosystem regeneration for increased food security, while strengthening women’s safe participation in decision making and contributing to community resilience and preparedness for multi-hazard emergencies, with women as change agents.

Frececo Fonden supports these efforts through a two-year project grant.
